Mt. Vernon had its first E-Learning day on Wednesday, September 19th, and many said that it was successful.
“I liked staying home and doing my work on my own time,” said Zoe Wacker, 11.
Students stayed home and signed into their classes as if it were a day when school was canceled. Everyone was assigned online work from their teachers. Students were required to complete these at home.
“I like the flexibility that comes with these E-learning days and how I can go to work,” said Ainslee Fox, 11.
These E-Learning days help prepare for the days when weather or any other circumstance prevents students and teachers from coming to school. It also provides a way for students to be able to do more with their day besides school.
“I liked E-Learning day because I got to stay at home and finish my work while relaxing,” said Joe Moore, 11.
These planned E-Learning days occur twice every year to help the students know what to expect out of a day when traveling to school isn’t an option.
