On Tuesday, February 13, there was an A Cappella Showcase at 7:00. It featured Locked Out, Formation, and the MV choirs.

The concert was free to get into, and was a concert to bring attention to the music of a capella.

Formation started the concert, and they sang, “Best Day of My Life,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Hallelujah.”

“The concert was good,” said Kana Turnell, 11, who is in Formation. “Our performance was better than expected.”

Locked Out is the advanced a capella group that practices in the morning. They sang, “House of Gold,” “Seasons of Love,” “Sail,” and “No Roots.”

Following the a cappella groups, the regular choir groups each sang up to two songs each.

Also, the MV Singers, the beginning choir, sang, “Build Me Up, Buttercup.”

Formation came back and sang, “If I Die Young” and “New Rules.”

At the end of the concert, Center Stage came back and sang “Standing Outside the Fire” and “Love Shack.”

In between the performances, there were many solo or duo performances. The singers are as follows: Emerson Bridgewater, Cayla Flowers, Aaliyah Harris, Jonathan Turnstill and Aiden Carter, Sadie Abel-Pace and Christina Cory.
