On December 13th, 2022, 40-year-old “So You Think You Can Dance?” alum and DJ for “The Ellen Show,” Stephen Boss committed suicide.

Stephen Boss, better known as “tWitch,” made headlines with the announcement of his death that Tuesday, confirmed the following day by his wife, Allison Holker. She wrote this confirmation in a Tweet, saying, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.”

Sources like Forbes Magazine and Us Weekly have reported that police investigated his hotel room at the Oak Tree Inn. They say that Boss’ management got worried after he checked in and never checked out and was unresponsive to all forms of communication. When the police finally got in the room, they found Boss dead by gunshot.

Everyone is in pain and trying to make sense of it, and we’ll never make sense of it,” colleague and long-time friend of the dancer, Ellen DeGeneres, said in an emotional tribute video. “Let’s honor him and think about him and send love to one another.”

Holker posted a selfie of her and her late husband, both wearing smiles, captioned, “Oh, how my heart aches. We miss you so much.”

Boss was laid to rest weeks later in the company of his wife, three children and some close family and friends.
