ATHLETE of the Month Julia Wayer brings her all to volleyball.

Volleyball just recently started for this school year and the first game was August 15, 2016.

There are many seniors on the team this year, but Julia Wayer is known for her accomplishments, such as: co-player of the year and defensive awards, and according to her, she has broken many records, which is what earned her the award “Athlete of the Month.” Julia Wayer, the athlete of the month, shows her passion towards volleyball with enthusiasm.

Q: What made you start volleyball and what has influenced you to continue it throughout high school?

A: I started volleyball out in the driveway at my house with my sister.  We would pass and play back and forth.  I liked it enough to try out for a small little team out of my church.  I was decently good and I liked it, so I stuck with it.

Q: How do you feel about your upcoming match against Lapel on August 23?

A: I feel decent about it in our chances and hopes that the game goes well. I plan to play hard in the game and give it my all.

Q: Do you hope to continue volleyball after high school?

A: I am going to play in college, but I am not sure where yet.  I would like to continue playing because I’ve worked hard playing it for a long time now, and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t play.

Q:
Who/What is your inspiration for playing volleyball?

A: I have a few people who really inspire me to play volleyball: my coach for one and my mom for the other.  I want to make them proud when I play.

Q: Do you have any personal goals for your last year playing for Mt. Vernon?

A: I want to play my hardest in all the games we have this year and do the best I possibly can. Since it is my last year playing for Mt. Vernon, I would like to leave it all out and leave a legacy.
