Minecraft 1.17 Update Review

On June 8th of this year, Minecraft released their new 1.17 update. They added new mobs, blocks, and ores. They now have axolotls, mountain goats, amethyst, copper, and much more.

One thing that really stood out to me while playing in survival mode was the looks of the new ores. They completely changed the look of the ores so that I had to do a double take while mining. They left no ore untouched, so all of them have a new texture.

The new update that they released, completely changed Minecraft. When they release the entire caves and cliffs update, the game just will not be the same to some players. The simplicity of just going into a cave to look for diamonds is now changed to going into a massive cave and dropping 100 blocks.

“I like the new update. They added axolotls and they’re actually so cute,” said Brandi Sharp, 12

Mojang also added some cute new blocks. One of which is Amethyst. The block is a very pretty purple and can be used as a building block to create a unique and beautiful design. Players also like the goats. They do not really do much, but they look funny.

Since the update has been released, the game is no longer the same. And to some people it is an improvement, and to others it is disappointing. Like it or not, Minecraft is changing. It is not the game it was when it was released 11 years ago. The game is growing and adapting to a new audience.
