The New IT Movie

Friday on September 16th “It Chapter Two” hit the box office. It’s had a long awaited arrival since the first movie in the series “It,” which came out September 8th, 2017. “It Chapter Two” came out with really high expectations after the success of the first movie.

Starting with a 7/10 rating on IMDb, a 62% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, and reports from a lot of critics, the movie did not live up to the hype story wise, but acting wise, it was approved. 

The movie is a lengthy film, coming in at two hours and forty nine minutes. “It Chapter 2” takes place twenty seven years after the first film, which takes place between the years of 1988 and 1989. 

“It Chapter 2” is about the group known by the name of the Losers’ Club. The evil clown, Pennywise makes a return. The story takes place in Derry, Maine. The characters from the last film are now adults, but have since left town and grown apart their own ways. People start disappearing though and that is when the old members of the Losers’ Club band together and take on the Pennywise once again.

 According to Forbes, the movie raked in $323.2 million dollars worldwide. It was made on a budget somewhere in between $60 and $79 million.

Taylor Loy, 10 said, “It was great. It was so much better than the previous movie, probably because it was more experienced actors.” 

Loy continued about the casting, “The adults are supposed to look like the child actors and they looked really good cause the adults looked like the kids from the previous movie.”
