Kanye West Teases New Album “Jesus is King”

Kanye fans can rejoice, the acclaimed producer and artist has had a controversial year to say the least. After releasing his 8th solo album, he teased another album, Yhandi, that was set to release September 29, 2018.  Then came Black Friday 2018 and it was “delayed indefinitely.”  After almost a year of fans wanting his new album, they might get their wish.

On Twitter, Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, posted a picture of a sheet of paper with the title “Jesus is King,” and an apparent tracklist. Kanye then confirmed that his 9th studio album will be released on September 27, 2019.

The album is a gospel album, the first Kanye album to not be hip-hop. Over the past year, Kanye has been having weekly Sunday Service in LA. The performances have been everywhere including his Easter Sunday performance at Coachella. The performances have gotten very good reviews from people who have seen them.

Kanye is taking a new turn on this album.  As most Kanye fans can agree, Kanye can change his music and still make a good album. Will this be the case for “Jesus is King”? Or will it be a misstep for someone who is just starting to make gospel music?
