Asia Club, led by MV’s Mandarin teacher Ms. Lin, hosted their second Ping-Pong Tournament on December 14 and 15, in hopes of donating to the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) adoption services. It cost $3 to play and $1 to watch. People could pay to watch at the door for $1.

There were a total of 19 teams of doubles and over 90 attendees, and $151 was donated to CCAI.

Last year’s runners-ups, Sam McCarty and Peyton Meadors, defeated JD Cohee and Ryan Stranz to take first place. Both duos were awarded trophies and food n the main gym for their excellent plays.

“Despite having some difficulties with ISTEP and a lower turnout than last year, we had a good tournament, and we are glad to use this to help CCAI Adoption Services,” said Asia club member Jacob Chaves, 12. “I hope that we can have an even better one next year.”

Be on the lookout for Asia Club’s Chinese New Year event.
