The scoop on AP classes

The AP and ACP teachers have a designated time when they can tell whether the students have or have not completely given up on the class.
“When we get to mid-third nine weeks, right before Spring Break, I can tell if they have given up,” said Mr. Guthrie, who teaches APUSH. “I had students that could have done much better instead of packing all of the information in.”
Most AP students are completely burned out, and super stressed about the looming AP test in May.
“I feel really bad stress when the teacher starts to freak out a little bit,” said Vicky Chen, 11. “I also freaked during lunch, right before the test. I didn’t study the night before because Grey’s Anatomy was on.”
The same goes for other types of advanced classes, such as ACP courses.
“I always see many students give up on their material and the class itself when they realize that they are going to have to put in a lot of work on their own time,” said Mr.Everett, the teacher of AP Physics. “The teachers can only do much work, and the students must put in a lot of their own time and effort in order to pass the AP or ACP tests.”
Students, make sure to put in a lot of effort towards harder classes, especially in the beginning of the year. When the teachers see students starting to fall behind, they try hard to make sure that they get back into studying and trying.
Make sure to study and learn on your own, because that is the core aspect of many of the AP and ACP classes.
