Homecoming has come and gone at MVHS, with the Varsity football team winning 31-20 against the Delta Eagles.

Students dressed with school spirit and cheered at the Marauder pep rally on Friday. Monday was PJ Day, Tuesday was Tourist Day, Wednesday was Hat Day, Thursday was Jersey Day, and Friday was MV Day.

There was also the traditional pep rally on Friday, which cut 1st, 2nd, and 4th block down by 20 minutes.

Kaitlyn Nugent, 12, said, “Pep rallies are important to school spirit because it is the one time the whole school gets to unify itself in one area and show off their school pride in order to get pumped for the big game.”

The seniors on the team prepared for the game for weeks.

“I have been getting hype this week and our football team has been practicing really well this week,” said Trevor Bond, 12. He has been kicking for varsity team since sophomore year.

MVHS has more games coming up, and there is winter homecoming to look forward to.
