So far, 2026 has been a field day for live music lovers throughout the United States. Many artists have announced tours across the country this year. These include both bands who are very popular, and those who are more underground.
One tour that is currently going on is Journey’s Final Frontier Tour. This is very significant because it is their farewell tour. They have been doing live shows throughout the U.S. almost every year since they first began making music back in 1973. The band has also integrated new musicians as some of the older members have died or retired. Currently there is only one original member remaining, lead-guitarist and co-founder Neal Schon. So, this is a surprising, yet important end to Journey’s legacy.
Other, smaller artists who have announced shows around the United States, and other countries, include Midwest emo band American Football, indie-rock band The Strokes, indie musician Tame Impala with guest musician Djo, indie-rock band Passion Pit and classic emo band Death Cab for Cutie. These are all greatly anticipated tours, including bands who have not done live shows in many years. Additionally, some of these like the American Football and The Strokes tours are promoting albums that are coming out this year.
If indie bands are not someone’s jam, larger artists such as Ariana Grande, Foo Fighters, Gorillaz and Bruce Springsteen are also touring in 2026. Most are coming to Indiana or the surrounding area, so local fans of these artists have the opportunity to see them close to home.
This year is amazing for music lovers of any genre, and these tours will hopefully revive the live music scene throughout the United States.
