David Anothony Burke, colloquially known as D4vd, was arrested on April 16 on charges of murder. Burke is the main suspect in the search for Celeste Rivas-Hernandez’s killer, and is currently in trial.
Rivas-Harnandez and Burke knew each other very well according to court documents; the two had matching tattoos and had been seen spending time together on multiple livestreams.
Rivas-Harnandez’s body was found in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla that Burke owned in September of 2025, but Burke was not listed as a suspect at first. Rivas-Harnandez’s body was so mutilated and decomposed that the coroner had a hard time finding out the cause of death.
Burke’s trial began in mid-April and the prosecution immediately presented the jury with strong evidence that Rivas-Harnandez was kidnapped and then killed in the same night. Alongside that, they presented evidence that Burke was lying in wait, which just means that the murder was premeditated.
The trial is still ongoing as of early May, and both sides are still presenting evidence for their case.
