Donald Trump has been declaring that the U.S. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz in Iran. However, the two countries are meant to be engaged in peace negotiations. Iran declares that Tehran will not back down to ‘bullying’ from Washington D.C. In the heat of the conflict, Iran has threatened to sink American ships that are currently blockading the Strait.
The United States is now threatening to shoot and kill any Iranian ships that are placing mines in the Strait. Despite a supposed ceasefire going on between the two countries, the U.S. continues to aggravate Iran with their blockade on the Strait. Both countries view the Strait economic necessity and it is viewed as important to negotiations between the two. Oil prices continue to rise as the conflict continues.
In response, an ex-commander of the Iranian military, Mohsen Rezaee, has mocked Trump and hinted that Iran has missiles to defend themselves from American aggression. He states the U.S. military has made themselves vulnerable to a great deal of danger from Iran.
The White House has stated that the Trump Administration is optimistic for an end to the war soon.
