A fourth of the year has gone by, and that means it is time for talk of the next “Minecraft” update in this year’s Minecraft Live. This year, it is packed with not just updates on the game itself, but also promises of completing requests the community has been asking for years. The Live itself can be found here.
First off, the Tiny Takeover update release date was announced to be March 24, 2026. Players can now check out these cute little critters for themselves. Explaining the update took about half of the Live. Throughout this update, Mojang showed the behind the scenes coding the babies and finding noises for updated audios.
Mojang has explained that they have created two interactive experiences that people can go through. The first experience, titled Villager Rescue has been out for a quite a while, but Mojang has announced that the experience will be released to more cities, including Henring, Singapore, Mexico City and Chicago.
The second experience is a nighttime experience titled Moonlight Trail where players have to band together to create a beacon. The Live showed concept photos to the experience, though fans have speculation the photos are AI. The experience will be introduced in Buenos Aries, but like the Villager Rescue, the Moonlight Trail will most likely be moving to more cities.
Mojang continued on, showing their biggest project yet: Minecraft World. Minecraft World is a “Minecraft” themed amusement park, bringing players and fans into the game of blocks with Minecraft themed shops, roller coasters and attractions. This will be located inside Chessington World in the United Kingdom and is estimated to be open to the public in 2027.
This is not just a promise that will be in the planning, Mojang has already broken ground and has collaborated with many Minecraft creators such as Grian, LDShadowlady, DanTDM and GoodTimesWithScar to help with aspects and designs of the theme park.
GoodTimesWithScar has played a big part in the creation and in helping design Minecraft World, as his dream job is to be a Disney theme park designer. Due to him being a wheelchair user, he has made it his mission to make sure the park is accessible to everyone.
Continuing on, the Live changes the direction to the game itself, revealing its upcoming update: Chaos Cubed. In the caves, a player can now find a new biome called the sulfur caves. In these caves, there are hazardous pools of gases that make the player nauseous, new vibrant blocks and the new sulfur cube.
The sulfur cube is like a slime, except it can absorb blocks. Depending on the blocks, the sulfur cube will do different actions when punched. If they absorb ice, they slide and if they absorb iron blocks, they drop quicker and heavier. There are more blocks, but these are just to name a few. Mojang explained how this mob can be great for minigames.
Finally, Mojang announced that the second part of “Minecraft Dungeons” will be coming out for players to play. This time, it is themed around the portal from the deep dark cities.
With all these new updates, Mojang is continuing to put a lot of energy into these new updates, in game and in real life.
