While most students just try to get through a class each day and do not typically talk to their teachers about their lives outside of school, there are so many things to learn about teachers. Many teachers have secret talents that are particularly interesting.These secret talents have gone undiscovered by students for years, it’s time to bring them to light.
Mr. Shaver teaches broadcasting, media production, audio and visual productions, and digital design at Mt. Vernon, and he said that he has two secret talents. His first secret talent is that he can play the harmonica exceptionally well. It is the instrument he plays best. His other secret talent is that he is a remarkable swimmer. He used to coach the swim team. However, he retired from coaching to focus on his teaching career. Mr. Shaver was a swim coach for twenty-seven years.
Mrs. Schiller teaches AP Lang, AP Lit, film literature and newspaper. Mrs. Schiller’s secret talent is that she is a singer. She actually met her husband while in a band. They were in the band together for about 6 months. While she’s no longer in the band, she performed in choir and musicals during high school.
Another teacher with a hidden talent is Senora Cavolick. She teaches Spanish I and II. She said that she has two secret talents. Her first talent is that she can say the entire alphabet backwards. Her second talent is that she is a gymnast. She was in the American Academy of Gymnastics in Northbrook, Illinois from 5th to 8th grade, and then competed for the Libertyville High School Team in Libertyville, Illinois all four years. While she competed, her high school team won the state championship.
All of these talents are very cool and super unique. There are so many amazing things about the teachers at Mt. Vernon.
