The new winter drink menu was released January 6. This menu contains the Cannonball Refresher, the pistachio latte, the iced Dubai chocolate mocha and the iced Dubai matcha.
The Cannonball drink is a refresher which combines lemonade, mango dragonfruit and strawberry acai bases topped with fruit inclusions consisting of freeze dried strawberry and dragonfruit pieces.
I enjoyed this, however it is very similar to the regular strawberry açaí refresher if made with lemonade base. It has some additions that differentiate this drink, but I just wish the differences could be tasted more. All in all, it is a good drink but is nothing special.
The pistachio latte is espresso and milk with pistachio syrup and a salted brown butter topping. This drink is served iced and hot. When I ordered this I got it iced.
Overall, this drink was really good. It has mostly sweet nutty notes with a slight salty aftertaste. The mixture of espresso and milk combines nicely into a smooth and creamy beverage. I also tried this drink with the pistachio cold foam on top, I would highly recommend adding it.
The iced Dubai chocolate mocha is an espresso drink with a chocolate mocha sauce topped with pistachio cold foam and brown butter topping. This drink is probably the weakest of the new winter menu, due to the excessive amounts of chocolate and lack of pistachio flavor, even though pistachio is one of the main components of Dubai chocolate.
I tried it iced with extra pumps of pistachio syrup, and was still not blown away. This drink feels like it was made for mocha lovers, not Dubai chocolate fans.
The iced Dubai matcha is a matcha latte with pistachio sauce and a chocolate cream cold foam topped with browned butter pieces. I definitely enjoyed this drink, the flavors blended together really well, creating a very good balance. I also think the flavors of this drink really worked with the matcha.
The only thing I would change about this drink is adding a bit more pistachio flavor. While in some sips I got a stronger taste, most of the drink had an almost overpowering flavor of chocolate. I know some people probably love the extra chocolate, but I prefer a stronger pistachio taste.
Overall, I would recommend trying this menu. It may be some unfamiliar flavors to some, but as long as personal preferences are kept in mind when ordering it is a great menu.
