In November of 2010, “Tangled” was officially released to theaters. In 2012, “Tangled Ever After” was released. Then in 2017, “Before Ever After” was the last movie in this animated trilogy.
Although there is no official date yet, Teagan Croft from the TV show “Titans” and Milo Manheim from the “Zombies” franchise were officially selected to play the roles of Rapunzel and Flynn in a live action adaptation. The movie will be directed by Michael Gracey, the director of “The Greatest Showman.”
There were many worthy contenders for Rapunzel such as Sarah Cathrine Hook. She looks the most similar to Rapunzel because of her beautiful hair and facial features. Freya Skye was also considered. She is 16 years old, an age which is closest to Rapunzel’s. Olivia-Mai Bartett was the final contender.
All are great actresses, but Sarah Hook should have been cast because of her outstanding performance in “The White Lotus.” Also Sarah Hook looks the part with her facial features and her blue eyes.
A contender for the role of Flynn besides Manheim was Gilli Jones. Jones is currently still in school, but is an excellent singer. Although Jones would make a good Flynn, Manheim deserves this role.
“Tangled,” will be a musical and is expected to film in 2026 with a potential 2027 release.
