The Christmas tree in McCord Square, in the town of McCordsville, featured bright, colorful lights and a massive star to top it all off. This dazzling tree was lit both during the day and at night for all passersby to enjoy.
December 15, was the first tree lighting ceremony in the newest McCordsville town center. This event was community accessible and family friendly. Families were able to enjoy hot chocolate, train rides and music performances by local schools.This exciting event was sponsored by Indianapolis University Health and Ninestar Connect. Both businesses operate at the center of this square. Their contribution allowed for a beautiful scene at the center of McCordsville.This first tree lighting ceremony was the start of an event that this town hopes will become an exciting tradition. The city plans on hosting this event as an annual celebration for many years to come. McCord Square hosts a number of events throughout the year in an effort to bring the community closer together.There were many other decorations spread throughout the square in front of apartments and businesses. Lamp posts were covered in shimmering lights and crossing posts were coated with the red and white stripes of candy canes.This Christmas tree shone day and night shedding the area in the warm colors of the holidays.
