There is a significant debate over when the correct time to start playing Christmas music is. The three main options are after Halloween, after Thanksgiving or waiting until the start of December. There are many different reasons to start playing it at each of these times, but the question remains: which is the best?
Few people start playing Christmas music after Halloween. However, since there is not really any Thanksgiving music, I do not think it is unreasonable to start playing it after Halloween. After all, there is a lack of other celebratory music for that holiday.
The most common option is waiting until after Thanksgiving, as it is the last holiday before Christmas. This one is the most logical in terms of timing.
The last time is to wait until the start of December. Although that is the month when Christmas occurs, I believe waiting that long is unnecessary because of the lack of other music and the joy that Christmas music can bring.
Taking all factors into consideration, I would say waiting until after Thanksgiving is the best option. However, because I love Christmas, I personally start playing Christmas music after Halloween.
That is my opinion, but I also took a look at some other students’ opinions on this.
I went around and asked 50 MV students. The lowest percentage of votes was for the start of December, which was 20%. Coming in second was after Halloween, which was 28%. Then the most common one was after Thanksgiving, being 52%.
