In the current landscape of rising grocery prices, overpriced fast food and simply unaffordable food in general, Chili’s stands out as an extremely viable and affordable option.
Chili’s is no five star restaurant by any means, but the quality definitely shines above average. More importantly, it is also extremely affordable.
The Triple Dipper is probably the restaurant’s most well-known item and is a shining example of Chili’s affordability. The Triple Dipper is a $17 menu item that includes a choice of three appetizers in a single dish. The proportions of the appetizers may vary, but usually larger items like the fried mozzarella come in two per Triple Dipper space, and others usually come at three and more.
This means that the Triple Dipper delivers respectable proportions for each of its three spaces. The Triple Dipper yields quite a lot of food for $17 and can easily be split with another person. If one were to split with another person, and then split the check, then the Triple dipper would only cost about $8.50 per person before tip.
Another fairly priced menu item of very good quality is the new Southwestern Queso. Even though the price tag on this bowl of queso is around $11, this item yields a large bowl of queso that could easily be split among multiple people. The order also comes with refillable chips and a small side of salsa, so the slightly higher price becomes warranted.
Chili’s also regularly has combos and specials for those on a budget. Another big reason Chili’s is an affordable option is because it is really not that much more expensive than some fast food orders.
For example, two Cheesy Gordita Crunches and a large drink from Taco Bell would be around $12 which is just a bit more than the queso from Chili’s and just a few dollars less than a sizeable $16 quesadilla from Chili’s that comes with ranch, sour cream and pico de gallo. The quesadilla is of higher quality and would probably keep someone full for much longer.
Considering its quality, and its prices in comparison to its contemporaries, Chili’s is an extremely affordable option for people looking for a good solid meal out.
