Teams are included in so many activities and areas of life. Everything from sports, work and clubs has something to do with teams. Now the function and objectives of a team may be different but the concept stays the same.
The definition of a team is a number of people or animals who do something together as a group. However, a team can mean much more than that. A team is a conglomerate of ideas, opinions and skills all which contribute to reaching a common goal. Working as a team aids in simplifying what would before be a difficult task.
Now, teams are important in all cases, but more specifically sports teams. Even in more individualized sports such as swim or track and field, a strong team dynamic is necessary for success. It is easy to support others considering most of the time, teammates surround an athlete more than anyone else most times. Not only that but they all experience the same pain, difficulties and success. When one teammate succeeds, the team as a whole exceeds.
The strong team dynamics show up well in MV athletics. Winter sports, fall sports and spring sports all center around a good team dynamic. Many sports do some forms of team bonding, even if it is done differently. From parties, to senior recognitions, to going out together to do something fun, team bonding is special for each member.
It is important that MV athletes continue to support and build-up their teams to become the best possible.
