Teenagers have heard of having a glow up over their summer break to come back to the new school year as a new person, physically. In order to have a successful glow up, teens will often go shopping for new clothes and shoes and try out new hairstyles. Some of these new outfits may even come with a pair of matching shoes.
Teens could walk into the school with a put together outfit, but not a put together mindset. It is important to take care of the body, as well as the mind. There are many ways teens can engage their focus in more positive aspects of life.
The first example is taking time off of social media. Taking time off of social media leaves space for one’s thoughts on themselves rather than what social media is telling them to be. A lot of people think phones can be a huge negative factor for teenagers which can be true.
Phones can be used in healthy ways. On a phone, there are many apps that can be useful such as a timer to wake people up early and start them on their day and calendar apps to remind people of our tasks.
It can be hard to get into a positive mindset, especially with school and extracurricular activities causing stress. Look at this as a chance to take things in from a positive perspective. Once one has seen the academic life in a positive way, it will be much easier to look at the rest of life that way too.
Let’s say there is a test in a tough subject that has to be taken. It may be a tough subject, but try to still have a positive aspect on it. Instead of saying, “I am not going to pass this test,” try saying “I have got this,” or “I am capable of passing this test.”
Along with these positive affirmations comes a new social life. Peers will see the confidence gained and may be inspired to get a mental glow up too. This is a way to create new friendships. One is able to be more active and social and will feel more comfortable reaching out to other people.
All these things can be extremely useful for one’s life, but it is all in the mind and dedication. One has to be willing and have the desire to be able to complete the tasks they want to. Anything can be achievable with the right mindset.
