There were a lot of Halloween costumes out there this year. One of my favorites was Strawberry Shortcake. This costume is easy to throw together and the costume pieces can be worn for every other day of the year, so it is cost-effective. To wear this, one would need a red dress, an apron with strawberries drawn on it, her iconic hat and green and white striped stockings. This is also great because it can easily be turned into a group costume. It would not be weird by itself either way.
Another one of my favorite costumes was Mavis from “Hotel Transylvania.” I love how simple the clothing is and when paired up with Jonathan from the same movie, it makes one of the cutest couple costumes. To be Mavis, all one needs is a black dress with red and black striped stockings. For Jonathan, someone will need khaki pants/shorts, an orange undershirt, and a yellow and green shirt. The wigs are optional, but I feel like they definitely help elevate the costumes.
One couple costume that could rarely ever go wrong is Raven and Beastboy from “Teen Titans.” This is perfect for people where one is more laid back and the other is outgoing. Now, the person going as Beastboy does not have to be outgoing. I just think it adds to the character.
For Beast Boy, a person will need a purple shirt, black pants, black jacket, green wig and body paint. I feel like the wig is really essential because of how iconic it is to the character.
For Raven, one would need a black body suit, white stockings and black boots. The wig is optional if the person has darker hair, but it does help elevate the costume.
One couple’s Halloween costumes that is more low-key is Regina George from “Mean Girls” and Rodrick Heffley from “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” While not from the same movies, I feel like they both complement each other. It can also double as a duo costume between two friends. This costume has been circling around the internet, and I really think they coincide with each other.
To be Regina George, one outfit a person could wear is a pink skirt, pink jacket, pink heels and a white tank top. For Rodrick Heffley, one would need a black shirt, an open green dress shirt, black pants and a chunky belt. I personally only think one would need a wig if they have light hair since he is known for having dark brown, almost black hair.
There are a lot more costumes out there, but I just find these to be some of the best I saw this year.
