LeBron James is often talked about as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. For those who watch basketball frequently and have seen what he is capable of on the court, it would make sense as to why he is talked about so highly.
James was drafted into the NBA number one overall in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He did not attend college due to his high school statistics that stood out to NBA scouts. After having a very impressive first year in the NBA, James won the Rookie of the Year award and went on to play very well during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, which he joined in 2010 with the desire to win championships.
His desires were met from 2010-2014, when James was on the Miami Heat, along with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, who were referred to as the “big three” by fans. This “big three” led the Miami Heat to four consecutive NBA finals appearances and resulted in two championship titles in 2012 and 2013. Due to the aging of the Heat roster, James decided to leave Miami and return to Cleveland from 2014-2018.
Currently, James is on the Los Angeles Lakers and has been since 2018. He is in year 22 of his career, making him currently the oldest player in the NBA. There have been many speculations that he will retire after the 2025-2026 season, and if he does, his lifetime stats would be as of today: four championships, 50,473 points, 11,584 assists, and 11,731 rebounds.
