On Sunday, October 20, royal jewels housed at the Louvre Museum in France were stolen. The heist has been talked about for several days, and authorities have apprehended four individuals who are in the process of being charged.
The nation-wide manhunt has led to finding the people who stole the $102 million jewels. There has been some evidence found that will possibly aid police in identifying the thieves. Two pieces of DNA have been found in a helmet and glove that was linked to the heist. Not much is still known about the robbery, and more evidence and updates are sure to surface.
It is known that the art director of Louvre has submitted her resignation after the robbery. The failure to properly ensure the security of the museum was what led to such a terrible tragedy to occur. Investigators have begun to speculate the heist might have possibly been an inside job.
More suspects have been found and arrested, and law enforcement workers are still looking for the other perpetrators. Video surveillance tapes were able to help authorities locate the thieves.
Two of the suspects have been found to have committed jewelry theft in the past.
