Autumn is just around the corner. The leaves are falling and the air is getting crisper. There is nothing better than curling up on the couch and watching comfort TV shows. There are a variety of shows to choose from, all containing elements that give the distinct impression of fall. Here are some of the top recommendations to make you feel the arrival of autumn.
The first and coziest show is “Gilmore Girls.” This award-winning show follows the lives of Lorelei and Rory Gilmore, a mother-daughter duo whose lives revolve around their town, Stars Hollow. Lorei navigates the rocky relationship between her and her parents while Rory handles a new school and how she is going to get into Harvard. The story of these characters is funny and also goes in-depth about the relationships between people.
Another outstanding TV show is “One Tree Hill,” which tells the story of the lives of two half-brothers, Nathan and Lucas Scott, and how they get through high school and later, college. Lucas is raised by his biological mother and struggles with being the new kid on the basketball team. Meanwhile, Nathan is trying to figure out how to deal with his mental health and maintain his status as the team’s best player while his father pressures him to constantly do better. Overall, the two brothers’ journey through life, love and loss.
One movie that has the best fall vibes is “You’ve Got Mail.” This film follows the life of Kathleen Kelly, whose rivalry with Joe Fox just might be the thing that saves her. Kathleen is a bookstore owner, and her business is not doing so well, especially when Joe’s company is looking to purchase her store’s lease. The story gets more interesting when the two unknowingly meet online and begin emailing each other constantly. When the tensions between the two bookstore rivals grow, they have to figure out how to pilot their blooming romance.
Last but not least, there is “Sweet Home Alabama.” This movie is about Melanie Carmichael, a fashion designer who moved out of her hometown to the Big Apple. She is engaged to New York’s finest, but finds out she’s still married to her not-so-ex-husband, Jake. She returns to her hometown to tie up loose ends and get a divorce. The only problem is that Jake will not sign the divorce papers, and when old sparks start to fly again, she has to figure out what to do. This movie is witty and filled with second-chance romance.
These movies are some of my favorites and will guarantee a cozy fall season. They are light and easy to get into. Enjoy and happy fall.
