On June 20, 1975, the hit movie “Jaws” was released to the public. This year, on August 29, “Jaws” was officially re-released to the big screen. It was such a monumental moment not only for the producers and actors, but also for the fans as well. “Jaws” did unfortunately leave theaters on September 4, however its impact on the world will not go unnoticed.
The very fact that “Jaws” was brought to the big screens is so important since the original was not filmed in the same format as current movies. The entire movie had to be reworked so that it would project correctly onto the cinema. That was a very tedious process for the crew working behind the scenes.
Right before the movie played in the cinema, one of the main producers came onto the screen and described how much effort was put into this conversion. This action really shows just how far this movie has come, and remarkable it is that “Jaws” has reached its half-century mark.
The plot of “Jaws” is quite simple. It follows the journey of Deputy Brody and his friend, Matt Hopper. Deputy Brody takes it upon himself to protect the community of Amity Island from the recent shark attacks. Things do not go quite according to plan though, and the events fold out in a particularly chaotic order.
Seeing the movie on the big screens was a large gift from Universal Studios. It was an experience that the super fans definitely did not miss. The theaters were packed, and fans raved about it. “Jaws” was popular when it first came out, and remains popular to this day.
