There are many wonderful antique and vintage stores around Indianapolis. This summer, I drove to Midland Antiques, Exit 76 Edinburgh Antique Mall, Noblesville Antiques on the Square, and the Southport Antique Mall. These are all large malls filled with old, unique items. Some are definitely better than others, and I will be ranking them based on their contents, size, pricing, and atmosphere.
I believe the best antique store around Indy is Noblesville Antiques on the Square. The vintage items I gravitate towards and collect are stuffed animals, comic books, novels, action figures, and technology. So, this mall has the best items for what I am looking for. It is huge, and full of all different kinds of things. Each booth has a different aesthetic and interesting collectibles to find. There are plenty of clothes, comic books, and quirky items all around the store. Personally, I believe this one has the best atmosphere as well. Because it is in downtown Noblesville, there are many visitors, which gives it a bustling atmosphere. The staff are also very personable and friendly. Each booth is owned by a different individual meaning they get to choose pricing, but overall, the prices are quite affordable.
Other contenders for the best antique store are the Southport Antique Mall, Midland Antiques and the Exit 76 Edinburg Antique Mall. I love all of these places and they are all super fun to visit, leading me to going to each of them twice. All three are very large and have their own kinds of vintage items to see.
The Southport Antique Mall gets an honorable mention because of its great variety of styles and aesthetic that the vendors cater to. Because this place is one-story, it looks much smaller on the outside than the inside. However, once people enter, the space seems to grow and each room gets bigger than the last. It is filled to the brim with antiques from glassware to small trinkets in glass cases. This store is one of the most diverse in regards to the types of things that are sold.
I really like Midland Antiques because of its variety as well. The downstairs is full of homemade wooden furniture and larger pieces. The upstairs has things that are more my style. There are CDs, vinyls, clothes and plenty of books. Like Noblesville Antiques, each vendor has a massive selection of antiques to choose from as well as the fair pricing. The sellers in this shop have some of the most interesting pieces out of any of the places on this list.
Additionally, the Edinburgh Antique Mall is held in a gigantic warehouse and is set up as a typical antique mall. There are glass cases all along the walls and small, open rooms for the vendors to rent. Again, it features any type of vintage items that one could think of. The reason this one is last on the list, however, is because of its pricing and atmosphere. The prices are slightly too high for my preference and the inside feels more like a department store than a cozy antique place.
Overall, the Noblesville Antiques on the Square is my favorite because it is the closest to where I live, it has the best selection of things that cater to my taste and the amount of stuff in the store provides an amazing atmosphere and opportunity for many unique items to find.
