Kewpie Mayo debuted in Japan in 1925. The mascot throughout the brand’s history has been a baby called the Kewpie Mayo baby. This baby has had a following and, in 2005, the brand Dreams Inc. made the tiny memento Sonny Angels.
At first, they did not have a certain series. They just had a plain naked baby with nothing on their head. Soon, after they came out with their first series of Sonny Angels, the series was called the Animal Series. In this blind box set, babies were adorned with different animal headgear, ranging from lions to dogs. These very quickly grew in popularity.
Now, there are eight different Sonny Angel sets that one can collect. In each set, there are eight different types of mementos and a secret named Robby. Depending on the series each is adorned with various hats and sometimes clothes.
Throughout the whole Sonny Angle line, my top favorite series would definitely be the Alice in Wonderland series, which includes memorable characters like a card soldier, Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat. Another one of my favorite series is the cherry blossom series. It has a Sonny with a cherry head with gold accents, a pink bunny and a peacock.
Overall, the Sonny Angel line has made Dreams Inc. five million dollars in profit. They are such a cute and amazing brand, and I think everyone should have a collection if possible.
