Jisoo, also known as Kim Ji-soo, is a South Korean actress, singer and model. She was born on Jan. 3, 1995. She debuted in 2016 as a lead vocalist and visualist for Blackpink.
Jisoo is known to have unpredictable behaviors and achieved stardom by cameos and advertisements before Blackpink officially debuted. She is a successful solo artist with multiple awards for acting and music. She acted in “Blackpink House,” released in 2018, “SBS Inkigayo,” in 2018-2019, “BLACKPINK Diaries,” released in 2019 and “Snowdrop” from 2021 to 2022. She was also in “Newtopis,” released in 2025.
Jisoo has stated that she tried to learn piano, guitar and ukulele, but ended up giving up after finding out how hard they are. She did learn how to play drums though.
Jisoo sleeps with her dog so that she does not have nightmares. She is very close friends with some people in Twice. Jisoo dated the actor Ahn Bo-hyun for two months in 2023 before ultimately ending the relationship. Jisoo has openly stated that, when looking for a partner, she looks for shared culinary preferences, kindness, and a great sense of humor.
Jisoo fans are mostly called Sooyas, which comes from Jisoo’s Instagram name. However, some prefer to use the name Xiuqis because they think it is a more intimate way to express their admiration for her
