Christian artist Josiah Queen has been rising in popularity during the past year. He has been going on tours, making various collaborations with well-known artists and is spreading the word of God with his music which is being streamed worldwide.
According to his website, at nine years old, Josiah Queen went to a conference where he dedicated his life to Jesus. The website also states that he felt a call to write music. He would lead worship for the churches his mother preached at. It was not until Queen grew older, working at a car wash, that he asked God to help lead him to a life of songwriting.
He sat down and created a video about his song “I am Barabbas,”which is about a man in the Bible who was let free from crucifixion. Jesus was killed instead of him. The song is told from the perspective of Barabbas and tells of his guilt at watching the suffering that he should have experienced instead. This was a huge hit on social media platforms, giving Queen millions of views and grabbing the attention of supporters. As Queen made more songs, his fame grew globally. He did all this without a record deal.
Queen’s songs became even more popular after his number one song, “The Prodigal,” was released, putting his songs on various streaming platforms, radios and on hit song charts such as “Apple Music’s Top 100 Songs.” He hit #10 on Adult Contemporary radio.
As Queen’s fame and music grows stronger. His songs are simple and only include a banjo, drums and a piano. Queen is now touring around the country, sharing his faith through his voice. He even has collaboration songs with many famous artists such as Henrick, Brandon Lake and Toby Mac, who sang in the DC Talk’s song “Jesus Freak.”
Josiah Queen has grown to be a star in the music industry, from sharing his music through TikTok to performing at in Phil Whickam and Brandon Lake’s “Summer Worship Night 2025.”
