For billions of years, the Earth lived in darkness. That is until Dec 30, 1984. That seemingly inconspicuous Sunday evening was one of the most important dates in human history. LeBron Raymone “King” James was born.
LeBron is one of the most controversial players in the NBA. With four NBA championships, four MVP awards and 19 All-Star game appearances, LeBron has firmly established his place in the NBA. Many people seem to think that LeBron is overrated or that he is too soft and that he did not work for his success.
His basketball adventure began at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, where he gained national recognition for his natural talent. LeBron did not go to college. He was so good in high school that he got drafted first overall in 2003 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
LeBron’s first run with the Cavs lasted from 2003 to 2010. He was awarded rookie of the year in 2004 as an 18-year-old fresh out of high school. “King” James has been amazing since the beginning.
Later, in 2010, Lebron left the Cavs and went to the Miami Heat. Here, Lebron won his first NBA championship when he led the Heat against the Oklahoma Thunder in 2012. The next year, Lebron ran it back with the Heat and won another championship in 2013.
However, Lebron left the Heat and rejoined the Cavs in 2014. On his second run with the Cavs, Lebron won another championship ring in 2016. He played for the Cavs for another two years until 2018.
In 2018, Lebron found his home. The Los Angeles Lakers gratefully welcomed LeBron as a part of their team. LeBron won his fourth and final NBA championship ring in 2020 alongside the LA Lakers. LeBron really is the Greatest Of All Time.
LeBron’s influence stretches far beyond his on-court achievements. He has changed the way athletes are viewed as leaders, within their teams and also in the broader community. His decision to return to Cleveland and win a championship in 2016, ending a 52-year title drought for the city, cemented his status as a local hero. LeBron is balling on and off the court. This can be seen in his philanthropy and activism.
LeBron is often referred to as the G.O.A.T. by many sports fans. However, there are still certain people who hate him. People love to hate on Lebron’s legacy calling him a “fraud” or a “flopper.” Some people even refer to him as a “phony.” The most common reason for hating LeBron’s legacy seems to be his rivalry with Michael Jordan. People claim that Michael Jordan Is the G.O.A.T., whereas others say that the title belongs to LeBron. This debate will most likely never end.
