Colleen Hoover is a very well-known author. Her books are found in stores and libraries all over America, and she has a large social media following. Most recently in 2022 she went viral on Tiktok; however, many people believe her novels are uninteresting in the world of romance.
Based on the novels I have read by her, I think Hoover is an amazing author. Colleen Hoover is most widely known for her two part book series ¨It Ends With Us.¨ Although some of her books are better than others, she has a way of grasping my attention within the first sentence.
Hoover is someone who writes with passion and creativity, but others argue her characters show no development. I think otherwise. For instance, in ¨It Ends With Us,¨ the main character, Lily Bloom, faces many challenges in her story. She is involved with an abusive man as well as growing up witnessing her mother’s abuse. Lily leaves him, because knows she is worth more and refuses to let herself down by following in her mother’s footsteps. Lily then finds love with someone who would never hurt her while remaining true to herself and her child.
Although I would say the sequel to It ¨Ends With Us¨ was not completely necessary, Hoover’s goal in her novels is that love can overcome all. I believe that was captured in that novel with Lily and Atlas´s story as well as every one of her novels.
In ¨November 9,¨ a love story where Fallon, a girl whose house caught on fire and she lost all confidence she had due to scars on her face and throughout her body and thinks no one will find her attractive until she meets someone who makes her feel beautiful again, and learns to feel comfortable in her own skin. This is a prime example of Hoover writing stories that her readers can connect with. Fallon and Ben meet the day she is supposed to move across the country; they both still have lives to live on opposite sides of the country. They wait for each other every November 9th for five years to see if love still overcomes all and they are still the people they fell in love with.
Colleen Hoover is loved by millions of people and has sold over 14 million print copies of books in 2022 alone. She is an excellent author who writes with passion, hope, creativity, and a deep connection with her characters and their stories.
