“Black Adam” is a movie that was released October 21, 2022. It was also released on Vudu and Amazon Prime Video about a week after the theatrical release. The movie was produced by DC Films and Warner Bros. The budget for this movie was $195-200 million dollars, and has a rating of 6.5/10 on IMDB.

Black Adam is the main character of this movie and is closely related to Shazam as they both come from the same gods. This movie takes place 5000 years after Black Adam was last summoned. Black Adam is played by Dwayne Johnson and I feel that he did a very good job at portraying this character. His acting was spot on to how Black Adam is in the comics, the things he says and the way that he acts was just like Black Adam.

The movie starts off with a group of people searching for The Crown of Sabbac, as this crown contains tons of power. A lady gets the crown and, when people come after her trying to get it back, she yells “Shazam” and Black Adam appears not long after. Black Adam has not been to earth in 5000 years, so things are very different for him. 

It is kinda funny watching him look at all these things he has never seen before. He has the help of the woman who summoned him and her son. The start of the movie was very enticing and contained lots of action scenes. Black Adam was called back to earth on a mission. He is not a hero nor a villian, he does good things, but also does not hesitate to kill people. I feel that this is one of the many reasons people like his character so much. 

Towards the ending of the movie, he starts to work with other heroes, such as Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Dr. Fate, along with the mother and her kid. Most of these people were trying to get rid of Black Adam at the start because he was causing problems, but now they are trying to help him get rid of Sabbac. 

There is a new very powerful villain in this movie named Sabbac. During their fight scene, I was paying very close attention, the amount of detail and acting out into this was crazy. The stunts were amazing and it all looked so well done. I was not sure who was going to win to be honest, I would recommend watching this movie to find out what happens.

Overall, this movie gets an 8.5/10 on my rating, it was a decent length and contained tons of action. It contained lots of backstory on Black Adam so anyone watching can find out why he does what he does. If someone enjoys watching superhero and action movies, then I strongly recommend this movie.
