Minecraft Bedrock vs. Java Editions

There are two official versions of Minecraft: “Minecraft Bedrock Edition” and “Minecraft Java Edition.” For years players have debated which version is better than the other. There are some differences in these games that change the way the game is played completely.

“Minecraft Java” is exclusive to PC gamers. There is no cross-platform feature in Java. Players need to have Java to play with friends. Multiplayer is a very big problem for Java and Minecrafters stray away from Java because of this reason. Although this is the case, Java gets updates first. When an update is announced and the full version is released, Java gets it first, since it only has one platform. It is also easier to add mods to Java. Java has lots of possibilities for mods and most are free.

“Minecraft Bedrock Edition” is a lot different than Java. Unlike Java, which has only one platform, Bedrock has easy accessibility with it being on PC, mobile, Xbox, Playstation, and even Switch. Due to this, lots of players choose this version because it is easy to play with friends. Though this is a huge plus for this version, it also means that it takes longer to receive updates. Mods are, well, complicated. Mods are just downloadable on Java, but on Bedrock, players have to buy them. They are not even technically mods that change the game. They are recolors or redesigns that do different things.
With all that being said, both games have their pros and cons, but they are both still Minecraft. Hopefully one day the versions will not be that different and all players will be able to play together and get mods. Minecraft will never die.
