Fenty Beauty

After two years of development, famous singer Rihanna held a launch party on July 7th for her new makeup line, Fenty Beauty. Rihanna, otherwise known as Robyn Fenty, has previously launched a clothing line in collaboration with Puma, and has collaborated with several high fashion designers such as Adam Selman, Stella McCartney, and Karl Lagerfeld.      This new line of makeup marks her first independent business venture, and is a new step for Rihanna’s brand.

Fenty Beauty was designed with the everyday consumer in mind. The line includes a primer, a medium coverage foundation, a flashback-proof powder, stick concealers, contour sticks, highlighting sticks, and powder highlighters. The foundation range consists of forty shades and includes light enough shades for people with albinism, and on the opposite end, includes a wide array of dark shades.

The diversity of the line is second to none, and has been received very well by the makeup community.

“It’s very nice that Rihanna has made shades for every skin color and tone,”  said Saron Kazmierczak, 10.

Overall, people seem to have responded to the new collection very well, especially the wide shade range.

“It’s important for people as influential as Rihanna to advocate for more inclusive makeup. I hope to see more makeup brands taking after her and widening their shade ranges,”  commented Brenna Lechner, 11.

This diverse range of products can be found to purchase on the Fenty Beauty website  or at Sephora.

It is also worth mentioning that the product quality and reviews are high, but the price has remained low, which even furthers the accessibility of this line to people of all backgrounds. Fenty Beauty has, even in its initial launch, proven itself as a makeup brand and even surpassed other already existing brands in quality, price,  and diversity.
