Volleyball team update

The Mount Vernon girls’ varsity team started out with a successful season of 7-1.
MV beat Greenwood High School 3-0 on Saturday, August 12.
“The varsity team is a little young this year,” said Rachel Pilkington, 10. “We will be good by the end of the season, though.”
Mount Vernon Varsity girls’ volleyball team won 3-0 against Cathedral High
School on Monday, August 14th. The next day, MV beat Beech Grove High School 3-0.
At 9 am on Saturday, August 19th, MV lost their first game to Cardinal Ritter 2-1. One hour later, MV beat Western Boone High School 2-1. At 11, MV beat Hamilton Heights 2-0.
On Tuesday, August 22, the girl’s Varsity won 3-0 to Guerin High School.
The girl’s Varsity team won 3-0 to Pendleton Heights.
“We have lost 3 more games than we’ve won,” said Shiloh McFarland, 9. “The JV team started off strong, but we have been slacking a little bit during the middle of the season. I hope that we come back again during the end of the season.”
