Christmas in Texas
January 30, 2020
As some people stayed snuggled in their blankets during winter break, thankful to finally
have time to be off school or work, I woke up at four in the morning in order not to miss my flight,
like I have done many times in the past.
The airport was actually quite empty and I got through security in no time. I normally fly
SouthWest so it is open seating and my favorite spot is in the back by the window. I have no idea
why, it is just my go to.
Once I settled into my favorite seat, I was finally on my way to Richardson, Texas for a
nice vacation with my family.Well, not my family because I was flying by myself in order to meet
my extended family down there.
When I left Indy it was about eighteen degrees, but when I arrived in Texas it was in the
high sixties. I was wearing boots and I was so confused as to why everyone was wearing shorts
and flip flops. When I had left Indiana there was a ton of snow on the ground, but in Texas the last
time it snowed was in 2018.
When we finally arrived at the house, where I would be staying for the next two weeks, I
was greeted by a massive labrador, Chase. My aunt showed me my room and then we went out to
Taco Bell. From babysitting my little cousin that day, to playing Just Dance all night long, I knew it
would be a great break.
It did not snow not once there and the normal temperature was about sixty degrees. Besides
me accidentally lighting an oven mitt on fire when I was attempting to make pizza, my Christmas
in Texas was amazing. If you can, I definitely recommend traveling for the holidays. It may leave
you with some amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
