Football Senior Night
November 8, 2018
The end of the season is approaching for the senior fall football players, dancers, and cheerleaders. The last season has a lot of meaning to the athletes and the people playing right by their sides. It is important as this last season is the chance to achieve any team goals that they had made or any personal goals.
“I am very sad that this season is close to ending,”said Phoebe Spector, 12, “but I am excited for this next chapter in my life and I cannot wait to watch the other seniors grow. I wish this would never end, but I know it can only get better. I love cheering and I am so sad it is almost the end.”
Underclassman may believe that school goes by really fast. The season is now full of last times: last time opener, last time with rivals, and last time with the players have practically grew up with.
“It’s crazy to think that I won’t ever play football again,” said Dylan Cole, 12. “It’s sad to think that me and the people I’ve been playing with for 4 years won’t ever step onto the field together again.”
For the parents, it their last time seeing their child play in the game, cheer, or dance.
“This being my last season is bittersweet,” said Emi Ouchi, 12. “The seniors on the dance team are the people that have been dancing together since middle school, finishing our last football game was something we all shared together. However, I can’t wait to spend the remainder of my last season with my team and see what it has in store for us”
Playing with the same team for four years creates a bond between teammates. Off field or on it, nothing should be taken for granted because in the blink of an eye, the season will be over.
