Although the school year is drawing to a close, there is still so much going on within the walls of Mt. Vernon. Activities that are still well in motion are sports, namely girls track.

The girls have been working hard, and have a lot to say about how their season has been up to this point.

“The season has been good so far, we are starting to get closer to the tournament part of the season, which is exciting,” said Reagan Woodruff, 11.

The team has been practicing since February, and though the season will be over soon, the girls still have aspirations for the rest of the season.

“Our main goal,” said Mary Claire Timberlake, 12, “is to do well in sectionals and regionals.”

Timberlake also pointed out how this group of girls have been closer this season, and really putting in a team effort.

“We got a lot of new freshmen that are very talented and have really built the team,” said Timberlake, “and we have gotten closer and are very encouraging to one another.”
The girls track team will begin their tournaments for county in May, do not miss out on seeing this team do what they love for MVHS.
