The Oscars took place on March 4, 2018. The awards show celebrated all the movies, soundtracks, and make-up and costumes, as well as the actors of the past year. The night was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. This was the 90th show.
“The Shape of Water,” directed by Guillermo del Toro won four awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score, and Best Production Design, followed by “Darkest Hour” and “Coco,” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” each movie winning two awards each.
“The Oscars were definitely amazing this year,” said Nate Davis, 11. “I can’t wait to see what next year brings.”
Not only did the night celebrate the year’s movies, the host, Jimmy Kimmel, also touched on important issues, such as the #MeToo movement and sexual harassment in the entertainment workplace. Overall, the show is one to be remembered.
