Snapchat Update

Popular social media outlets these days include Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. Some are more used than others, but one social media app that is used frequently and is highly praised is Snapchat.
Back in seventh grade or so, when all middle schoolers began to download Snapchat, times were happier. Things were better because, although Snapchat would make minor changes every once in a while to heighten the user experience, the Snapchat Team would never totally flip the app upside down to just change things around. That is, until the team decided to update Snap in the beginning of February 2018.
This is where things begin to get rocky. Before the update, the layout was a three page sliding layout, with personal snaps on the left, the camera in the middle, and stories, both public and private to friends lists, on the right. However, the team decided to switch things up, and put both stories and personal snaps on the left side, the camera in the middle, and public stories were left on the right side.
I, for one, actually like this update. I believe that it is a better experience for me if I can go to one place on the app, and see the pictures my friends send me, as well as the stories they have posted for everyone. It also is no longer really in chronological order, but is instead in the order of how often you snapchat specific people. So, your best friends on the app are going to be higher up on the list of stories you see first instead of someone you hardly talk to being first because they posted three minutes ago,
Unfortunately, not many people agree with my opinion. Some are even petitioning to get the old Snapchat back, and for the app creators to reverse the update.
“It is so confusing,” said Aimee Brittain, 11. “It’s horrible, I’ve basically given up on watching stories because it takes so much work. I hate it.”
Alas, for those of you who are not fond of the update, it seems it is here to stay. On the other hand, for those like me who are actually digging this update, then jump for joy, because the update is not going anywhere.
