The Fantastic Food Fest
More stories from Caty McGovern
On February 10 at the State Fairgrounds, Indiana Grown hosted the Fantastic Food Fest. This is the third year this event has happened.
The set-up of this event changed drastically from the past years, making it less inclusive to people under 21. There is a Grand Tasting Pavilion that in the last two years you bought tickets to buy food from the people in it. The tickets were a dollar each and booths would set up pricing, such as a sandwich for 3 tickets. This year to enter the Grand Tasting Pavilion, you had to be 21 or older. This was due to there being a theme of the food there that was based around alcohol.
While the set-up changed, there were still plenty of food places to try samples from. All the businesses in attendance are located in Indiana. There were over 200 exhibitors. Some of the places in attendance were Circle City Kombucha, Graeter’s Ice Cream, the Gallery Pastry Shop, Shoup’s Country Food, and the Twisted Sicilian Food Truck.
This event is a way to learn about local businesses, and a way to support locals.
