Varsity guard practice officially started on November 7th. Tryouts were held on November 1st and 2nd to decide who would be put on varsity and who would be put in junior varsity.

This season is jammed pack with practices to ensure the varsity guard makes the most out of their show.

“This season is going to be different because the members of the varsity guard are generally much closer and we have grown as friends as a whole,” said Alexis Franklin, 12, who has been doing this for three years. “I think this season is going to go extremely well. The show is hard right now, but it will definitely pay off in the end.”

The show name has not been decided yet.

“It’s all about being different from everyone else,” Liam Bass has been doing guard for five seasons.

“I think it will go well we have a wide variety of talent and many personalities. I wanna win state finals this year and grow more as a guard,” Bass said.

The first show is January 21, at Beech Grove High School.
