As most seniors look forward to getting into their dream colleges and starting their life after high school, one thing is on their mind: applying for federal aid.
“The average annual increase in college tuition from 1980-2014 grew by nearly 260% compared to the nearly 120% increase in all consumer items,” according to BusinessInsider in a 2015 study.
One way that students pay for college is applying for federal aid. FAFSA stands for The Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FAFSA is a form that students fill out using past tax information to see what aid students qualify for.
On November 13, Mt. Vernon High School will had professionals come in and help students and their families apply for financial aid.
“The specialists will be here from 2-7:30 that day,” says Mr. Beaver, Director of Guidance.
