Ed Sheeran
October 23, 2017
Ed Sheeran performed in downtown Indy at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on September 8th for the world tour of his “Divide” album.
His opening act was Joshua Radin, who is known for his folksy style. At the concert, Radin claimed to have known Ed Sheeran since he was seven years old. Radin sang a couple of songs from his new album “The Fall,” including the hit song, ”High and Low.”
The one man show (Ed Sheeran himself) wooed Indianapolis by opening with “Castle on the Hill” and “Eraser” off of the “Divide” album. Sheeran then did a throwback to his “+” album by singing “The A Team.” During this song, the entire Fieldhouse was filled with phone lights. He then performed a mash up between “New Man,” which is on the “Divide” album, and his song “Don’t,” which is from his “x” album.
Ed Sheeran also performed “Dive,” “Happier,” “Galway Girl,” “How Would You Feel,” “Nancy Mulligan,” “Perfect,” and “Shape of You” from his new album throughout the night.
Sheeran sang a couple of other throwback songs throughout the night, such as: “Bloodstream,” “Photograph,” and “Thinking Out Loud.”
Sheeran pronounced that his last song of the night was “Sing” from his “x” album, however, he soon returned to the stage wearing Myles Turner’s Hickory Jersey.
Another mashup that he sang was “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone and his song featured on the soundtrack for The Hobbit, “I See Fire.”
Ed Sheeran ended the night with his number one song from his album, “5,” “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.”
I had such an amazing time at the concert. Ed is such a talented performer with a natural gift for the stage. He was phenomenal and I would definitely see him in concert again.
