Senior Feature: Felicity Kratky
February 8, 2017
As the cast of Hairspray! took their final bows, all eyes were on Felicity Kratky at center stage. After performing in ten different musicals over the course of her high school career, she had clenched the lead role of Tracy Turnblad for her senior year.
“I honestly don’t even think I could put into words how honored I felt,” said Kratky. “I feel like everyone has that one big thing they want to accomplish in high school, and that was mine.”
Kratky’s achievements in high school spanned even further than musicals. She has performed in school choirs since the 4th grade, including the advanced high school choir Center Stage and the a capella group Locked Out. She has also been a member of the Indiana All State Choir for the past two years.
Needless to say, Kratky has a bright future ahead of her. She plans on attending Ball State University to major in accounting, with a possible minor in vocal performance.
However, she said she did not get to where she is today all by herself.
“I would not be the person I am without my three best friends Avery, Erica, and Tatum,” she said. “High school is a roller coaster for everyone involved and having awesome friends supporting me has made it fun and far easier.”
Although she is enjoying senior year, Kratky is looking forward to graduation and moving forward.
“I’m very excited to start the next chapter in my life,” said Kratky. “I am going to miss things about high school, but I think I’m at the point where I’m ready to move on.”
