The Mount Vernon Dance Team has once again proven their dominance in the competitive dance scene by winning the state championship at the IHSDTA in the Varsity Pom Division AA.
This victory took place on Sunday, March 2 in Florida at the Corteva Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds. This win marks an impressive fourth year that the Mount Vernon Dance Team has brought home the state trophy.
The team, known for their precision and creativity, showcased an outstanding routine that captivated both judges and spectators as well. Their performance not only highlighted their technical skills, but also their passion for dance.
These Maruderes made sure to “defended the shield,” as they continue to uphold the legacy established by their predecessors.
Each member of the team demonstrated remarkable teamwork and synchronization, which ultimately led to their win. Their commitment to training and rehearsing paid off, Junior Mirinda Jones said, ¨We put in so much work, and it feels great to see it all pay off.¨
