The remaining members of the famous rock band Nirvana have come together after years of being defunct due to the tragic passing of fellow band member Kurt Cobain. They reunited for one last show to help fight the fires devastating California.
Drummer Dave Grohl, bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear joined a band of famous singers to perform four classic Nirvana songs. St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett and Dave Grohl’s daughter, Violet Grohl, joined the remaining three members to perform.
St. Vincent sang her rendition of “Breed” for the night’s first song. After her performance, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth performed “School.” The next special guest was Joan Jett who sang “Territorial Pissings.” The fourth and final song, “All Apologies” was sung by Violet Grohl.
The reunion was the first time the band had played together since 2012, when they recorded a song with Paul McCartney. This also marks the first time Dave Grohl has made a public appearance since his secret child was revealed to the public back in September of 2024.
The FireAid event raised over one hundred million dollars to help stop and control the wildfires in California.
