On October 16, 2024, Liam Payne, a former member of the boy band, One Direction, fell to his death from a third-story balcony at a Buenos Aires hotel.
A preliminary toxicology report stated that Payne had cocaine in his system when he fell. It was determined that the death was due to falling and that no other person or struggle appeared to be involved. The prosecutor’s office explained that Payne had internal and external bleeding in the skull, chest, and abdomen.
Mere minutes before Payne’s death, a call was received by Buenoes Aires 911 respondents. In this call, the hotel desk manager claimed that a highly intoxicated Payne was breaking things in his room and brought on the concern of causing harm to himself.
